UCLA Chancellor: A Word from Chancellor Block

"A Word from Chancellor Block" is to be read not as "a word" from an independent-minded individual named Gene D. Block, but as a piece of global corporate marketing propaganda produced by "The UC Brand" departments of the Corporation of The Regents of the University of California, where each word was chosen from the "UC vocabulary" and, as a whole, is to serve as a model for "Speak UC."

Likewise, the accompanying photograph of UCLA's "Chancellor Block" is to be seen not as that of an autonomous human being moving on his own independently formed agency, but as that of a movable body of global corporate marketing propaganda—one whose 'UCLA-leading-our-future' gaze here was formed and directed by his corporate handlers from "The UC Brand" departments.

The reality purposefully obscured by this perfected photograph of a movable body of global corporate propaganda and this global propaganda piece from UCLA's "Chancellor Block" is stark: As a student or as an employee of The University of California, you are to "Speak UC" using the "UC vocabulary" provided to you by the Corporation of The Regents of the University of California.

This case at UCLA shows the flagrant abuse of power that the Corporation of The Regents of the University of California unleashes on those at the UC who do not "Speak UC"—this case shows how George Orwell's 1984 is operating at the University of California, 2024.
